Dr. D. Manikandan was born and brought up in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He received his primary and secondary schooling at C.M.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, where he participated in oratorical events and artistic performance circles.

He subsequently pursued an engineering degree at Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.). During his collegiate years, he engaged in technology competitions, placing second at the International Robotic Challenge hosted by IIT Bombay alongside Robosapiens. He also actively prepares for the Indian Civil Services examination to enter the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
